Prickly Pears is the fruit that grows on the cactus. Knowing how many amazing health benefits cactuses give us we should not be surprise that the fruit from this plant is just as wonderous when it comes to its nutrition.
The prickly pear fruit contains antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, such as iron, magnesium and potassium. It also contains phytonutrient which is said to reduce the risk of cancer.
We also use prickly cactus to make jelly and candy but since we are focusing on health, we decided to share our recipe for the agua fresca. It is a wonderful way to use this nutritious fruit to stay refreshed and hydrated.
When you purchase these prickly pears, they usually come free of thorns but as a precaution please be careful and make sure there are none. We hope you like this agua fresca as much as we do.
Enjoy this delicious and healthy agua fresca!
